My 5-year-old son is fascinated with cathedrals. He loves to look at the book I have on a local cathedral. He tries to draw them and build them with his Lego bricks. It is difficult to find a book on this subject that is geared toward his age level, so when I saw this coloring book, I knew I had to buy it. He absolutely loves it. I might have to buy several more of them. He'll have this one finished in no time.
The historical information in this book is extremely interesting. The drawings are very detailed, so much so, I would like to keep them as sketch art rather than coloring in the book itself. The paper quality of these Dover books is so thin, the colors will seep through and make some pages impossible to appreciate. Dover: Upgrade your paper stock!
I knew I had to send this book to my daughter when I saw the cathedral on the front cover. I did think that it probably should have had "real" pictures in their locations rather than diagrams, but as long as my daughter is happy, that's all that matters.
I bought this for my mom who love cathedrals and coloring. The pictures are very intricately detailed. Definitely a coloring book meant for older kids, teens, and adults.
Bought this for my kids for a trip to Europe - they got to see a number of these cathedrals in the flesh. Textual content is impressive for something so slim.
I gave this as a gift to my granddaughter, an architecture graduate and she loves it.
