A family visits a pumpkin patch, then carves the pumpkins for Halloween. The rhyming text is simple and the font is large, making it perfect for newer readers while not dumbing it down at all. The illustrations are absolutely adorable, full of life and humor and fun. In areas where visits to pumpkin patches are common, this would be a wonderful addition to a classroom, school library, or public library. It would also work well for an autumn-themed unit.
I felt this was a bit harder to read for a step one than other titles that they have. I would put it as a step two. But other than that the story was ok, and my little guy enjoyed it!
