My son is all about hockey, and has been since he was old enough to voice an opinion on the subject. I bought this for him for a little surprise, and he loves it. He's nearly four, and he pretends to read it to himself - he's almost memorized the text. The text is in riddle format, which is better for older children, so it surprised me that this was a board book. Not that I'm complaining! He's a boy and very rough-and-tumble, so in our case, it's a huge plus.If you like this book, also check out Hockey Animals, Hockey Colors, Hockey ABC, Hockey Shapes, and Hockey Numbers. They are great for little ones that love hockey!
My little guy is a fanatic hockey fan already, so for his 2nd b-day I got him some hockey board books.We got this one and 3 others, the abc,123,and colors hockey board books. This one is by far his fav. I think it's because each page has a diffrent full shot of beautifully illustrated hockey elements. We've had it less than a full month and the 4 instead of 5 stars is because it doesnt look like the binding is going to stand up to much more of his 'love'.
As hockey fans, I definitely wanted to get my son a hockey book. He enjoys it very much and is always happy to turn the pages while I read it. It is written with UK English, so some of the words are not spelled in the American English forms. That doesn't bother me though. It's just another teaching moment so my son can start learning about other cultures and dialects.
This was a 4th birthday present for my son, my husband played hockey 5th grade through senior in college so our son is obsessed with anything hockey, we read this book every day! The pictures and the poems are really cute, and the quality of the book is great!
My 2 year old is a hockey fanatic. We have had this book less than a week and I can't tell you how many times we have read it. It is written in riddle form and once we get to the end he insists that we start it over. GREAT book.

This is a super simple but educational & interesting board book for toddlers whether boy or girl. Colorful engaging pictures that hold their short attention span. I will be buying more of these great books!
I got this for my grandsons. The older one 'reads' it to his baby brother!!Definitely recommend for little ones.
