This book is part of a series. Great pictures and concepts. Giving it 4 stars because of a misprint on 2 pages- instead of english/russian they printed english/arabic. I don't know if it's in all books.
Book is in great shape, so excited to use it! LOVE THE ILLUSTRATIONS!... Thank you for helping me to keep my culture and language alive, through teaching my children German. Your books really help! I recommend for any bi-lingual family!
This is the first bilingual book I've ever purchased for my daughter. I really like reading it to her, and she enjoys the pictures as well. The only issue I have with this book though is that I feel as if though there isn't enough clarity between some of the "opposite" pictures.
This book itself is very cute, and j'aime the illustrations. But the book itself that I received was from a public library somewhere in Texas, and it looked like it had been washed in a laundry machine. The binding was peeling off, the book had dirt and sticky stuff all over the pages, and the pages themselves had considerable wear and fraying.
I like the series of books. The images are not always the best representation of the concepts, but my son likes point at the pictures. We mostly use it as a vocabulary book and not much for understanding the concept of opposites.
The books in the "My First Bilingual Book (English-Italian)" series have colorful, good quality images, sturdy pages, and the size is relatively small. These are great books for households where both parents don't speak Italian, since they provide the word in both Italian and English. The only downside (for the whole series) is that it's not a story book, it's a dictionary/flashcard style book, so it can sometimes be difficult to hold a baby/toddler's attention with this. With the limited Italian bilingual material out there, I would still highly recommend this. The "Opposites-I Contrari" one is particularly well done, in that the pictures, in my opinion, adequately convey the concepts in the words being taught (e.g. showing "far" v. "near" in static pictures), which is more difficult than showing nouns.
The illustrations are very nice. This is a good book to inspire my husband to speak to our baby in Cantonese. I like that not only Mandarin, but also Cantonese speakers can use this book. It is useful for Chinese speaking parents to teach their American born kids. I plan to purchase more books in this series.This book does not include pronounciations for English speakers- it is best for kids who are already growing up bilingual and have speakers of both languages in the family.
Pretty good, however there was a misprint of two of the words. Instead of being shown in Korean Hangul, they were in another language, I can only guess...Vietnamese maybe? I looked it up online, and pasted over the misprint.
