I first became aware of this book because they have it in the infant room at my daughter's daycare. One of the teachers mentioned to me that my daughter seemed to really love it and would bring it up to have it read to her, over and over. She was probably about 11 months at the time.Natually, I had to get it!I could quickly see what she loved so much. It has beautiful illustrations, fun rhymes, and great textures for each page. Her favorite page by far was the one where she got to feel the "pie tin" that grandma is using to make pies and treats.I highly recommend this book, my daughter is now 18 months and she still loves it!
This is a great board book for introducing the season of Fall to young ones. It did take a bit of time for my one year old to warm up to this book but you can do so many fun things with it. At the beginning her basket is empty and so we've talked about that as we read and how she fills the basket with Fall goodies. The touch and feel places are nice with a few unique ones thrown in - a pie tin (my daughter loves running her finger over that one) and the wicker basket. The only ones that are small are the leaves but at least they make quite a few touchable. We like to touch the things she picks up and move our fingers to her basket to show that she's filling it up. The colors and scenes in the book are lovely. Now, this is a first pick when we have reading time because of the interactions we've created as we read with the book.
This is a cute book. The words don't flow as easy as they could and some of the touch and feel portions are rather small. Another downside is how thin the cardboard pages are. Otherwise a very heartwarming harvest book.
I bought this for my 16 month old grandchild. She loves it! The illustrations are very nice, and it is a nice little story. My grandchild loves to feel the scarf and baking pan the best! I would recommend this book!
My 14-month old son loves touch and feel books so of course this is a favorite of his. He loves to turn all the pages and find the part that feels different. The story is cute and my son loves when I read this book to him.
I love fall, so I thought this would be a cute book. It is a cute book with a cute storyline however the quality could a little nicer, especially since I gave it as a gift. Glad I didn't pay much for it.
this book misses the mark for me a bit but my 18mo old daughter is a big fan ... I felt like the texture of the pumpkin could have been more interesting and certainly the leaves could have been improved upon - where is the signature crinkle of a fall leaf ?!
Cute little book but definitely like other reviewers mentioned not much of a touch and feel book. The parts that are touch & feel are so tiny and misses the point of the book. That said my daughter still liked it.
