My has been really interested in this book from the very beginning. She's 3 months old and still enjoys looking at the pictures. We describe the animals and make up stories about them and I feel like we're starting her off right for her early literacy skills.
I wanted a book with realistic black n white animals and was really looking forward to having the last page focus on ethnic diversity. When I read the book, I absolutely loved how detailed and beautiful the animals were. However, I felt the final pages with the two children should have been done in that same back n white gorgeous detail. That last page just left much more to be desired especially given how great the rest of the book was... and because that page was on diversity which is so important to our family.
Filled with the most delightful, detailed drawings of animals - from mammals to insects. The black and white contrast makes this board book perfect for infants. My granddaughter adores it. Children will definitely know their spots from their stripes after enjoying this book.
This is a wonderful first book for babies. Beautiful and engaging illustrations delight infants.I routinely buy this book for friends with new babies and they rave about how their children react to the illustrations.
Our 8 week old granddaughter loves this book! The clear designs and contrasts catch her eye now, and Ms. Tildes' always thoughtful message will enrich her experience later on. A treasure for the family to enjoy together!
