Great book. It's all about a Chinese American boy growing up in New York and trying to adapt and live in American culture while trying to understand his grandmother's Chinese culture. A delightful story. Highly recommended.
It's a nice little memoir. My son needed it for school, although they only used the 'My Brooklyn Grandmother' chapter. He found the chapter interesting enough to do the work, but not interesting enough to read the whole book.
Awesome...perfect for my lesson block!
I had to read this book for Language Arts. I didn't like it at all. It's good read, don't get me wrong, but unfortunently it just doesn't have that...um...spark that I'm looking for. It's a good book for a memior, but I wouldn't suggest it. In short, you shouldn't read this book.
