Our daughter had to do a biography for a book report so she chose Laura Ingalls Wilder - the book author that one of her of her favorite TV shows is based on. She used the library book to do her report, but she enjoys the pride of ownership of good books which she re-reads. This book is written at the elementary school level 3rd to 5th grades. Easy to understand and provides information about her life and times without going into too much detail. This is part of a "Bobble Head" series of biographies as the students at her school refer to them.

My granddaughter, 10, has read about every Laura Ingalls Wilder book she can. We were together at the Burr Oak Musuem last summer and seeing her interest, I had resolved to find her more information on Wilder, the genre and the era. Ms. Demuth's book hit the spot.Very readable and well written for fans of all ages with interesting information. In an time when we seem culturally and socially engineered by manufactured needs and wants, it is refreshing to find reading material that departs a lesson of self-reliance and the importance of personal initiative.

I choose this rating for many good reasons.1. A lot of very great information in a short story.2. Easy to read, and to be able to read to any age group.3. The pictures helped to visualize what things looked like at the time. Can't wait to read the many more books entitled, "Who is ?".

Perfect book for my 4th grade classroom as we study historical people. This book is written well for children and keeps their attention. Short enough that they can get through it with ease, but just the right amount of information. I am working up the purchase of this entire series for my classroom.

This book is a great compliment to the Little House book series. My 7 yr old enjoyed learning more about Laura's life and how she adapted events from her life to fit into her books. (And I enjoyed reading it to her!) She also loved hearing about Laura, Almanzo and Rose's lives after the book series ended.

My nine year old granddaughter loves to find out about new people and explore entire world! Perfect for 3rd or 4th grade!

Most of the biographies for children are written about famous men. I wanted my grand-daughter to learn that many women have also been successful, and reading a biography is a good way to do that. This book was purchased along with Laura Ingalls Wilder's "Little House in the Big Woods" as a Christmas gift. Hopefully she will enjoy the story, and then enjoy learning about the author who wrote it. I also purchased "Who Am I?" books about Jane Goodall and Amelia Earheart.

Great information that I haven't read in other books.it was entertaining and simple enough that my six year old liked having it read to him. Formatting needs a lot of work, but overall a good purchase.
