This Barack Obama story is very good for young readers and covers enough details to show the ups and downs in his life. His spirit of perseverance will be an inspiration to the next generation. HOPE :- )

Shana Corey has written another perfect little book for younger readers (and even adults). There is superb craft in the text and it is filled with great facts (obviously well-researched). The fact that quotes were gleaned right from the study of Obama's numerous speeches makes this book a great teaching tool at any level. The illustrations are vivid and "authentic" looking. I love this little book - and you will too. Look for a wonderful looking couple with two cute little boys in the illustrations - this is the author and her husband and two boys. No page number here - it will be more fun for you to search! Outstanding!!!Step into Readings are so often so well-written. The structure and style of the Steps 3 and above are usually worth studying for craft and structure - and even researching methods! Great great great stuff! Bravo!

I bought it because they had president topic at school. A nice side effect was that because he always looked different from other children, my daughter realized that he felt like her beeing not blond and blue eyed....

What doesn't bother to tell you is that this book can't be read on a basic Kindle, unless you use a magnifying glass. It is a total rip-off. Yea, I didn't pay much for the book, but I still paid infinitely more that it was worth. should be ashamed to treat its customers so poorly.

I bought several Obama biographies for my grandchildren during the election months this fall because I wanted them to have the opportunity to learn more about their president. I also took the book to school when I volunteered, and it seems like a good book for students in second grade or older. I was also pleased to see how excited even younger children were to attempt to read the book. They recognized President Obama's name and picture and wanted to learn more! The interest level was strong, and I recommend the book.

This is a very good book to introduce young people about the life of President Barack Obama. It would be perfect for a first grade reader, but it would also be appropriate to use the book as a family/classroom real aloud.

Bought this for my daughter who was in the 3rd grade and doing a report on Barack Obama. It was easy reading for her and useful.
