Unlike most of the "I Spy" books, this one has little pictures of each of the items you are supposed to be finding, instead of just a printed word telling you what to look for. My son just turned three and being able to SEE what he's supposed to be looking for is just great! He adores this book and will look at it carefully, finding every item on every page. It's also a great book for bringing along in the car. Highly recommend this for younger kids!
I am a mother to a three year old boy and I remember loving I-Spy books as a child. Instead of having the normal bed-time story, I decided to order this book for him for a book that keeps you active and on your toes. He absolutely loves this book! It's very simple, even if your child cannot read. It shows the picture on the side of what you are trying to find. Even though my son has found all of the items on each page, it's a book that doesn't really get old. I plan on purchasing more for my imaginative child!
This is my own fault for not research in the levels, but this book is not challenging on the least for my 3 year old. He still loves it, don't get me wrong, I just would prefer something a little more difficult.....but not as difficult as the full Size books!
These are good I Spy's for littler kiddos, the other ones are a bit more advanced and my 3 year old loses interest in them quickly. However, since they are so basic he gets bored with these after a while too. I wish they were bigger, these are pretty small and only a handful of pages. I was thinking they were going to be the same size as the larger hardback ones.
My son (3 years old) loves the I spy books. He can read it and find most of the items without help making them fantastic for restaurants and car rides. This one is just as great as all his other level 1 books.
I wasn't sure if my son was old enough to understand I spy books, but this was simple enough that he understood. There is a picture on the left, so I say "look for the ____ it looks like this" and I point to the picture on the left. In a few days he was bringing the book to me and saying for me to look for it, "it looks like this, mommy". Now that he's older (2 and a half), it's more fun because I can ask him to look for something that isn't pictured, such as a train, and he can usually find it.
This is a fun book to play I Spy with the kids. The pictures are clear and colorful. You can say "I Spy" and pick out something that is not shown as an I Spy item and it is still fun. The only thing I was surprised about is that, for the price, it is not a long book, it is very short and I would have liked more pages.
This is a favorite series in my house. All the kids have loved the search for the fun items hidden in the pictures. The family makes it a game and even after finding the listed items you can make a new list from the other items in the pictures.
