These mazes are all very similar, even the rough square shape does not change much.
I was very disappointed in the Maze book when it came. It is so small that a child can't even hold the pages down in order to follow the mazes. The pages don't stay down and they are so small. Not for children and my grandkids are 4 & 7. This to me is more for adults that they can stick in a purse if they want to do puzzles. There were 3 that came together. Now I know why they were so cheap in price.
Let me start with by saying that I have purchased all the books from this series (Dover Little activity books) They come in four different contexts1-Mazes ( including this book)2-Spot the difference between two pictures3-Connect the numbered dots to make a figure.4 Finding the hidden pictureI agree most of the criticisms from other reviewers: Yes, these books are small (less than 6 inches length), difficult to keep open and are black and white. Compared to more expensive maze books it is a little less appealing and due to lack of colors and contrast sometimes my son gets puzzled to distinguish the open paths from the cul-de-sacs. But it is the point of solving a maze, right? My son goes through a book of 60 pages like this within a few hours and he likes spending time with this a lot. Additionally, the mazes are a mixture of different designs and difficulties and therefore is not a repetition of the same thing at all. I see that my son is improving his skills of solving the maze so I think these basic books do the job they are supposed to do well. There are a bunch of maze books from these series and basically they are pretty similar in terms of context but all that varies is the objects portrayed. Sometimes it is a mixture of sea animals sometimes bugs etc.You may, just like me, think that paying a lot for a book that entertains a kid for only a couple of hours is not worth. If so, go buy these books, you won't regret...
I bought these to go in valentine treat bags for my son's K class. I wanted a non-candy option. We did some variations on the "a-maze" phrase and passed them out. They went over well. These are the perfect size for keeping in your purse to pull out when you need something new to entertain.
Love these little books! You can't beat it for the price. Our daughter had poor fine motor skills and her handwriting is suffering because of it. I bought these to help build the motor skills so prepare her better for 1st grade.
I purchased these books for my grandson, he loves them and learns a few things in the process of figuring out the mazes. They help keep him occupied when ever we have to wait for appointments, while flying etc.
I was disappointed when i received this. I was unaware that it is a tiny little pocket sized book. I bought this for my 5 year old whom is obsessed with mazes and im just gonna throw it in his stocking. If i had known it was so little I would not have bought it for the price i paid.
This little book of mazes is only a few inches big so I thought well? Hmmm...It might get lost during shipping which costs more than most any of the books! But it didn't! It was the first book of three that I ordered they came the fastest and it was a tiny little thing that I worried I would never see.
