I recently gave a party for my 7 year old using games from this book. They had a blast! The games are VERY simple and definitely only for the age group that was recommended by . Most are the classics that you probably know already but when you sit down to think of things to do, you forget. Its a handy reference guide and not expensive. If you are looking for more complex or unique games, this isn't for you. But for the purpose it was intended, they nailed it. Oh, and it comes with the game of Pin the Tail on the Donkey...I bet that is at least $2-3 by itself in the store!
We bought this book on the occasion of our twin daughter's fourth birthday. It just so happened that developmentally they had started getting into playing games a few months before. We had initially thought just to break open the book at the party, but as usual, the girls spotted it on its arrival from . We ended up reading it almost every night, and they loved learning how to play the various games, and were excited about teaching their friends. To be honest, we didn't use all the games at the actual birthday party- too many things were going on. Still we were able to play a few of the games, like pin the tail. We'll probably use it again next year. Highly recommended if your parenting style is not the type that tries to outdo others with hiring more extravagant clowns or ponies...
