This is a good book on Sudoku for kids. The book includes 77 puzzles. The puzzles are of two sizes: 6x6, and 9x9. The solutions are at the end of the book. There are no categrories or levels of difficulty for the puzzles.The first three pages in this book are dedicated for strategy, hints, rules, or tips. All the puzzles in the book are Classic Sudoku (with numbers). There are no Alphabet Sudoku (with letters) or Symbol Sudoku (with shapes and symbols) like the two books "Kindergarten Sudoku" and "Super Sudoku for Kids". Also, there are no simple 4x4 puzzles like some of the other books.
Good for my seven year-old grandson who likes this sort of activity--he still needs some direction from me. Might be perfect for 8-9 year olds?
Great way to keep an 8-year-old busy! These puzzles are just the right level of difficulty for a child in the middle years of elementary school. The description says 3rd grade and up, but I'd wager many second-graders would also be able to tackle these with some help from the book's strategy/introduction section and an adult to help get them started.I think it's great to give kids an activity like this that reinforces logic and problem-solving. The book is perfect for road trips or anytime you need some peace and quiet without resorting to turning on the TV.
My daughter (7) loves this! I am a sudoku fan, and she always wants to help. I found that this book, and was super excited because I knew that this would be perfect for her. The puzzles are difficult, but not difficult enough that she needs help with them, so we can now do our sudoku together, and I am left without interruptions!
My ADHD 6 year old happily sits down for 30-45 minutes at a time doing these puzzles. He hasn't exactly figured it out yet, but he enjoys trying! I had to buy his 9 year old brother one because they started fighting over it.
This book was bought as a Christmas Gift for a gifted 6yr old and she loved the book and has already completed all the puzzles withno help from anyone.This book would frustrate the average 6yr oldespecially the 9 square puzzles.I would suggest it for an average8 yr old who could enjoy it and not become frustrated.
My nine year old has enjoyed this book. The first part of the book has puzzles in a six by six grid. This format makes it easy to understand the concepts of the game. The second half of the book has easy puzzles in a nine by nine grid.
This is a great book for kids who love numbers. This was purchased for a 5 year old who loves being able to do Sudoku on his own. His interest was piqued watching me solving sudoku puzzles.Book is divided into 6x6 and 9x9 sized puzzles with solutions at the end of the book. Great product that is portable and doesn't require an electronic device.
