"Williams has a brilliant signature style. . . . All the adoring fans of her TALES FROM SHAKESPEARE will rejoice, and new ones will join in the applause." —KIRKUS REVIEWSGrab a seat as Marcia Williams wields her popular comic-book style to bring AS YOU LIKE IT, KING LEAR, MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA, TWELFTH NIGHT, THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, and RICHARD III vividly to life while evoking the mood, mischief, and manners of sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Elizabethan theater. As in her previous volume TALES FROM SHAKESPEARE, Williams blends her own storytelling skill with Shakespeare's rich dialogue to make these masterpieces accessible to even the most reluctant reader. Bravo!

This is a great book, but it is EXACTLY the same book as another of Marcia William's titles, "Bravo, Mr. William Shakespeare." We had all three of her Shakespeare titles on my daughter's wishlist, and she got all three as gifts; the two books are identical, except for the title! There is NO mention of this anywhere I could see (well, I admit I didn't read the publisher's or 's details, so I could be wrong)--so we'll be returning the duplicate! Great book though. We have several of Marcia Williams' books. I love that they familiarize kids with stories, plays, myths, etc (that we hope they'll read in full later in life) in a fun "comic book" format, but use actual quotes from the originals in the cartoon frames. Fun to read, and it's giving my daughter an appetite for good literature!

My 8YO loves these books. They give her the opportunity to learn a number of things in a format accessible to her age-level. Shakespeare in particular can be a bit heavy, but the way the stories are laid out in this book makes it so any one can follow the plot. HIGHLY recommended.

Illustrated Shakespeare tales for little kids. A few more actual Shake quotes could be more useful, but nevertheless a decent introduction to the bard for little kids. With any hope, they will quickly outgrow this and move on to the real thing.

Marcia Williams transforms Shakespeare's immortal works into readily understandable comic form, without losing any of his superb characterisations or story lines. The characters are seen on stage at the "original" Globe Theatre, complete with rude comments, hearty guffaws etc from the audience, also part of the comic strip format. Any young reader will find Williams's format of Shakespeare's marvellous works an unmissable start to their study of the world's greatest playwright.Marcia Williams's books are "must haves" for students about to enter the wonderful world of Shakespeare.

My 7 year old son is familiar with Shakespeare stories because of this book and it's companion volume. He picked it up and read them all himself. It is engaging for those too young to sit down with the original works.

My kiddos and I love these! Great introduction to Shakespeare. The pages can seem a bit busy but my kids enjoy all the illustrations and dialogue bubbles.
