We have a lot of these DK readers star wars books. The level 1 books are very good for my young preschooler -- a short read with big type and good pictures. They are decently well put together books and completely non-offensive.My problem with this book is that it is just a character synopsis. Each page basically introduces you to a given character. There is no notion of the plot line or anything -- might as well call it Episode 7 character compendium or something like that.
This is really just a dossier on characters and factions - my 4.5 year old daughter was distraught to realize there was no narrative. But The Force Awakens books for children were lean pickings at the time!
My grandkids love Star Wars. I wanted to have a book to read to them that didn't have too many words on a page-- because they would lose interest--but that still has an interesting and accurate story. This book is great. The pictures are also great.
My girls (6 1/2) enjoy this book. Each page has a character with some information about that him/her/it. My kids are advanced readers so this book is just to build their star wars collection. It's more advanced than a "Step into Reading" brand level 1 book though, for comparison.
Our 6 year old son is obsessed with Star Wars. These books are great for his reading and keep his attention from start to end. Lots of glossy pictures and short punchy sentences keep him focused.
My son loves the Star Wars DK books. He is 6 years old and in the 1st grade. He can read these well on his own. He likes all the pictures and stories.
We got this to keep our grandsons (who love all the Star Wars movies) informed on the plot and characters of the newest movie. They enjoyed it!
Just what we needed for the goody bag at the themed birthday party
