This book is great for beginners or teens who want to make cute things with polymer clay. It is definitely not a book for more advanced clay makers. The pictures are great and the crafts featured in the book are modeled by young people which gives credibility to the projects when you see them being worn by everyday people. I gave this book a rating of three only because it was not a book I especially enjoyed. However, for a beginner or young person this book will be great!

I used this book (and a few others) as a basis to teach a home-school coop group of students from 3rd to 6th grades about the fun of polymer clay. The kids LOVED the projects in this book! The kids loved it so much and shared their creations with friends and family that next semester I will be teaching not only another 3rd to 6th grade clay class, but also a 7th and 8th grade class. The Itty-Bitty Animals and the Robots were probably the overall favorite projects. There are so many excellent, manageable, fun projects in this book. If you are interested in trying polymer clay for the first time or just want to experiment with new projects, you won't go wrong with this book.I think this is the best polymer clay book I have found, and you can believe me because I checked about about 30 of them from my local library. Many are geared too old for kids or only create mythical creatures.Clay So Cute is a fantastic book that truly walks you step by step on how to do the projects. Your results will be as cute or even cuter that the examples in the book. From a teacher standpoint, I give it an A+!!!!

I bought this for my daughters ages 8 and 10. They love it and love the ideas in the book. Easy to follow instructions. I gave it four stars because a couple of the ideas are kind of dumb, but most are great. Worth the money.

We gifted our seven year old daughter four yearwith a kit filled with polymer clay and a toolkit. This book was included and has been such a hit! Our favorites have been the bottlecap pendants and the claybots (our four year old son loves these!). The instructions are very clear, and I like the way it shows how much of each color clay to use for each project (it shows you a dot and says to get a ball of clay the same size).I appreciate that each project introduces techniques that can be applied to her own ideas (like using a tool to apply a texture, or marbleizing colors), and that the finished products are actually cute, useful, and hip, rather than being too grandma (with no offense to grandmas :)

This is a book designed for CHILDREN - it is NOT designed for Adults who are making things which could be sold to other ADULTS.The designs here are very cute - but very very simplistic. This appears to be written for a 10 to 12 year old girl. For that audience it is an excellent book which would be much appreciated. This is not the sort of book you would buy if you wanted to make "big people's jewelry" for resale purposes..The instructions are easy to follow, and there are nice photos for every project.

I love this book. I am an art teacher and have an after school jewelry club. We do polymer clay projects often. This book has some really neat ideas and they are easy to make for the middle school students I teach. Only one problem. The book was listed as in NEW condition and it was cracked at the bottom of the spine. I am picky about the condition of my books and if I am told my book is in new condition, I expect it to be in new condition...you, too?

Clay So Cute!: 21 Polymer Clay Projects for Cool Charms, Itty-Bitty Animals, and Tiny Treasures is a really fun book for kids to learn about polymer clay and make some cute projects. It is written by prolific author, Sherri Haab and published by Watson-Guptill. Sherri Haab also wrote "The Incredible Clay Book" (which sold over a million copies!), plus many other books about jewelry making and other creative pursuits. The book includes lots of fun pictures as well as basic information about polymer clay, such as how to bake for permanency or to fix broken pieces (good to know!). It also tells about tools and supplies needed, plus safety tips. I liked that the author had explanations of things you'll need to make jewelry with. That was helpful and interesting!Clay So Cute!: 21 Polymer Clay Projects for Cool Charms, Itty-Bitty Animals, and Tiny Treasures is divided into three sections, the first being "All Jewelry, All the Time". There are many projects making colorful and fun jewelry pieces of all types. I thought the cookie cutter necklace was really cute and so easy, even for a beginner! The second area, "Fantastic Foods" has lots of yummy treats to make and then wear. The chocolicious bracelet looked real (and delicious!) enough to eat! "This and That" is the last section, with other neat ideas, like the treasure tins to decorate any way you like!Polymer clay is a fun and easy art medium for kids to use and they can explore endless avenues of creativity with it. And this is a excellent book for girls to use if they are just starting out or even if they just want to find some new projects to make!
