Oh, if only we had had books like this when I was a little girl. The hours we spent playing "Paperdolls" and we loved it. If our "cut-out" books had had the quality of this book, I am sure we would still have the books. What a delight to see paper doll books printed on such high quality paper stock and designed & printed so beautifully. I bought 3 paper doll books by Tom Tierney at the same time and I had second thoughts about doing that. I was wondering if he would take the "EASY WAY OUT" and duplicate some of the outfits from one book to another. I am thrilled to report that Tom Tierney is NOT a man who "TAKES THE EASY WAY OUT" and I am so glad.The size of this book is LARGER than the other two(Great Fashions of the Victorian Era and Gibson Girls). I must say I truly like the larger 12 x 9" size much better. It is only a matter of a few inches, but frankly it makes a big difference. The dolls are much larger and, naturally, so are the costumes. If someone was going to use these for playing "paper dolls" it would certainly making cutting out their costumes much easier to have the larger sized dolls. In this book, he only puts two outfits on each page - when he does that in the other books, the costumes are rather small. In some cases, he could only put one dress on a page. PLEASE MAKE ALL THE REST OF YOUR BOOKS THIS LOVELY, LARGER SIZE. IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE!I purchased these books because I collect half-dolls and I need to make outfits for all of them. Naturally, I will probably be making outfits with hoop skirts, but then again, I may not. Anyway, that is what caused me to find these fabulous books by Tom Tierney.I know I am going back to .com & buy ALL of Tom Tierney's books.
