best that I've run across in my years of fiddling, it is not actually for the beginner beginner, but for someone who is taking violin lessons, lets say from school, it is a a welcome accompaniment to the lesson environment, it expands the art of violin into fiddling.
This book is written in a way that is simple enough for a beginner but on every page, Ms Wheeler teaches additional tricks and licks that are a benefit to a person who has been playing for several years so I am never bored. I play the CD on my Tascam CD-VT1MKII. This player allows me slow the CD down if I need to, or loop a part I want repeated over and over until I get better at it. She has us playing simple songs using double stops and a variety of endings right away. I love it!
