There is only one pop-up in this book, but it is very important. At the back of the book is a big two-page, fold-out, poster style pop-up of a complete orchestra which should remain unfolded as you follow along in the book. Each spread is devoted to a section of the orchestra: string, woodwind, brass, percussion and visitors (keyboard, harp, and voice). The reader gets a basic education about all the instruments: how they are constructed; how a person plays them and what kind of sound they make. Lots and lots of interesting musical facts for ages 6 or 7 and up. Do you know which instrument plays an "A" note all by itself at the beginning of a performance so all the other players can match their instruments to this "A"? You'll find out in this great introduction to the orchestra.
