My son uses this book for his piano lessons and he likes the variety of music. It is challenging for him (he has only been playing 2 years) but feels like "real" music rather than "lesson book" music.
The pieces are suitable for small children. My son is 6 and he does not have any trouble playing them. It is arranged from the easy ones to the more complex ones. I like it a lot!
I picked up this book because I considered myself a kid, at least in the realm of being a music beginner. It has a great progression from overly easy to reasonably challenging. I ordered a second one for my girlfriend's kids so that I could have mine to myself. Also, the keyboard/note chart on the last page is a great help.
My 7 year old granddaughter can't wait to try this book out on her keyboard and her recorder. Lots of pages of simple beginner music.

I purchased this book for my son. He really is having fun with his keyboard and likes the songs in this book. He is working on getting me to try to play also...maybe. I have purchased a few books by this author and my son has liked each one because they are written so he can understand them.
