Action! Silliness! Pictures galore! It's no wonder that comic books and graphic novels are a big hit with kids. We've loved how authors artists are creating fun graphic stories for younger readers. This new series will find many fans among 1st through 3rd graders looking for a fun adventure in their comics. In this second book of the series, our secret crime-fighting duo takes on the evil schemes of the school librarians. Kids will love the plot, as the librarians try to destroy all video games and achieve world domination. The snazzy gadgets continue, with Taco-vision Night Goggles, Hover Pizzas and Sonic Boom Juice Boxes. I loved how the librarians unleashed creatures from stories to battle Lunch Lady and her gang.I especially liked how Krosoczka created an action-packed comic book with a goofiness that makes it perfect for this younger set. This doesn't have any of the dark undertones that some graphic novels or comic superhero stories have. This is not a book with a lot of character development, but I think its purpose is to hook readers and make them laugh.Want more great books? Come to [...]

I like the concept. The series levels at 2nd grade. I like the high interest comic style. Not nearly as humorous as the Babymouse and Squish series by Holms. The humor is just not there. These are a popular read at the school library but I found little interest in my class library. I bought a handful in this series and I'm not too impressed. Has an interest level up to 5th grade though and great for struggling older struggling readers who are affected often by only have reading material options at younger levels which can effect self esteem. Read it with your child then donate to a classroom or your school library. You'll be giving a gift that keeps giving after your child is done reading it. Give it a try and if it doesn't interest your child, try Babymouse or Squish series. Your child may enjoy this series.

Reading isn't just about school and I have 4 great nieces and nephews that I really hoped would love reading. Two of them don't; the Lunch Lady was part of my plan to entice them to read and...it worked! The fact that it looks like comic strips was an immediate win; the story was fun and interesting. I kept the books at my house and they didn't finish the one they were reading in the first visit. The true test of whether the books were worth it was the kids reaction when they returned for the second visit; they picked up the book they were reading and finished them! No school work; no book report...just fun! I'll be adding more of these books for future visits and also start sneaking in some regular books too. Thanks Lunch Lady...You Rock!

I've been buying the Lunch Lady series for my eight-year-old granddaughter, but always read the books first. They are delightful stories of the adventures of a Lunch Lady with super powers who fights the bad guys, with the help of her assistant who thinks up products like the lunch-tray laptop and the spatula-copter. A slightly satirical version of the regular super-hero stories.

We read our first episode out of order. We enjoyed it so much, we decided to start at the beginning, Krosoczka's art and humor are just right for my third grader. He is really enjoying reading these books.

My 8 year old son loves this book series. The only problem is that he gets so enthralled in the books that I cannot get him to go to sleep at night. He wants to read the books in one sitting. I have not read the books myself, but the premise seems fun and interesting.

My boys all love Diary of Wimpy Kid. However, there are only so many books in that series. This book was something that came up as similar to Diary of a Wimpy Kid. My boys love this book. I know there are more in the series and I am waiting for a good price so I can buy them.

I bought this for my granddaughter who is in the second grade. We went over the words that were unfamiliar to her before she started the book and than she was able to read it herself. She liked it so much we have gotten more for her.
