I bought three of these books. The story itself is fine as are the pictures but 2 of the books were poorly made. The pages are not aligned with the cover, it looks like a reject from the the already rejected pile. Normally Little Golden Books are so nice and last a long time. If I had the time I would return it but I had to travel the day after I received them. Luckily children hardly notice these things.
I love the color in the pictures but these books are very thin, hoping when I give them to my nephews that they last, you can't even classify them as comic books, more like a hand out. I think either way they will be able to appreciate them which is what I wanted.
I saw this golden book in a grocery store and the condition of the books were always beat up. So I was thrilled to find this on and the condition of the book arrived in MINT condition. No scratches, no dings, and the spine was Brand New and Never been opened! Fun artwork!!! It's probably my favorite modern Marvel Comics/Golden Books mash-up. I would buy from Billy Wrecks Books again in the future.
My three year old loves this book. While Batman is his favorite, he loves anything to do with Iron Man and other super heroes. The story and art are great, focusing on the heroic aspects of the character, the armor, and lots of good-natured action. It's a totally fun and safe way to introduce kids to classic super heroes. And knowing that I am going to have to read a book five times (or more!) a night, this Iron Man book and the other Little Golden Book super hero books are the way to go.
My 2 year old son loves theses books! We have Iron Man, Hulk, Spider Man, and just ordered Avengers, Thor, and Captain America. These Little Golden books are great for bed time. The stories are a great introduction to these Superheroes. They are long enough to tell a good story but short enough to read 2 or 3. Can't beat the value for the price!
This is not a comic book with a beginning, middle and ending. This is a descriptive book - who is Iron Man and who are his enemies? For those of us new to Marvel Comics, this is what we need to help sort through the very deep well of Marvel characters.
My 4 yr old loves these series of superhero books. He has almost all of them and I highly recommend them. For the price, you can't get much better. He reads 2-3 of them a night and has them memorized at this point.
I purchased a whole set of books for my grandchildren. They are just as I remember as a child. Great quality at a good price. Would definitely recommend.
