A great book based on the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games! This is a Japanese comic, a manga. The Japanese language, when written, is read from right of left, instead of left to right like here in America. The comic has been translated to English, however, the preserve the original artwork, it must be read from right to left. It is a little confusing at first, but it's kinda fun once you get the hang of it!
I personally enjoyed the "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon (Video Game)" series and purchased this Manga based on it. I expected a cheap knock off of the series. I was extremely surprised when I couldn't put it down and finished it in one sitting. The events that unfold in Pokémon: Mystery Dungeon - Genji's Rescue Team, are both humorous and pay tribute the Video Game. Sadly, there is only one manga is the series so I'm stuck waiting for another tribute to the video game.
Both of my sons ages 8 and 10, love this book. They can't wait for more to come out like it.
Ginji is a regular schoolboy until he wakes up one day as a Torchic! Before Ginji can figure out how to change back a friendly Mudkip convinces him to become his partner and form a rescue team. Saving adorable Pokemon from disaster is exciting work. But can Ginji save himself? Will he ever be human again? And will his transformation turned the Pokemon world tipsy turvy?
This is a fun Pokemon book. Surprisingly, I read it in a few minutes! That's one way to prove it is a great book. I especially liked the story. The only thing that it is kinda...funny that you read from right to left instead of left to right. It's not a mistake at all, though. It was printed in its original Japanese format to preserve it. I have no idea why the Japanese made it like that. But it's a fun graphic novel to read besides being read from right to left. I'm not bothered by it any, really. (I'm used to reading anime comics.) Anyway, this is fun!
I remember reading this way back when it came out in Nintendo Power! The wait in between chapters gave me something to look forward to at the end of the month. ^_^I really love Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, so when I found out the Manga from NP had been released in tankobon form, I literally did not hesitate before coming here and ordering a copy!It isn't as good as the game, but it's still a wonderful addition to my manga collection.
Cute book! Great for Pokemon fans! â¥
The description did not say this was a comic book. Disappointed purchase. Thought it was more of a story you can read to a 6 year old.
