My daughter loved this as a child so I purchased one for my first grandson. Illustrations will catch infants attention with shiny colors. Purchased one also for the local Kindergarten class along with some mini plastic fish for story time.
My son loves The Rainbow Fish. When we learned there were more stories we had to get them. It's a very nice hardcover book and has 5 additional rainbow fish stories. They're great for teaching lessons to small kids. The only thing that disappointed me is the fact that the shiny scales aren't sparkly in this book like they are in the original.
I got this book for my classroom (2-3years old) I was nervous the book would be too much for them, but this book does a wonderful job with the illustrations that the children are simply captivated by it. The even ask for the stories from "the big book" every story time.
Great stories and illustrations. Our grandsons love the rainbow fish series and can't wait for pj time so they get to hear another story.
Thought the scales would be silvery shiny like in the individual books. They are not.
The only reason this gets Three instead of Five is because I thought it came with the ORIGINAL story, and it doesn't. I gave it as a baby shower gift, so I just picked up the original after the fact, I just would have liked the original to be included.
Continues the themes of love, courage, justice, equality found in the first book. Wonderful tool for teaching children
