I teach kindergarten, and my students have read all the books about Mrs. Wishy-washy and her animals. This book has the same fun, joyful tradition of the other stories. The children's immediate comment was "Read it again!". One child wanted to write to Joy Cowley to see if she was going to write another one. This book is a winner.
Be aware that this book uses the word 'hate' a few times and also refers to Mrs. Wishy Washy as 'mean' old lady...its a good fun story, and I still read it to my daughter, but I edit the choices of words along the way...she has the rest of her life to find out what hate is...a two year old doesn't need to know now.
I have recently purchased this book for my 2 year old and she cannot put this book down. The pictures are wonderful and full of color. The pictures are so big and the story plot is not that long so that for non readers it is just great and lots of fun to read. Suggestions, make noises as you read the few lines and have them call out and descripe the colors and animals seen on the pages. I truly recommend this book because most importantly my daughter loved it and I loved seeing her face.
Outstanding book. We have a reading night & I dressed as "MRS. Wishy-washy". The children (and parents) loved me reading this book. It is very cute. In one part when the animals run off, the children looked almost scared and worried for them! Very simple, yet very cute book. Love the farm animals!
I purchased this to add to my Mrs. Wishy-Washy book collection that I read to my class during our farm unit. I have several activities that go along with this particular book. My students and I both love the story and the character of Mrs. Wishy-Washy is sure to be a classic.
This is a great book - full of good old fashioned rhyming fun. That's why my husband and I love it. Our toddler loves the colorful, charming illustrations. Either way, it's a winner and on our top ten list!
Mrs. Wishy-Washy likes everything to be clean -- and has a big tub to prove it. But what will happen if the farm animals don't want to take a bath? What will they do? Read the book to find out! Simple rhyming text make this book a favorite!
My 2 year old son loves this book! We got it as a library book and he loved it so much that he was beside himself when we had to return it. It was his favorite Christmas book (out of lots!). Even as I am writing this, he saw the picture of the cover and is so excited to see "Wishy-Waddy's Farm" :) Highly recommend!
