We have Bassets and our youngest is just as silly as Charlie. The books are beautifully illustrated, and I've sent all 3 to my grandsons. I've sent the first reader to my older grandson since he's in first grade and reading to his younger brother. I look forward to more Charlie Books.
What a cute a book! Well worth anyone's time and money to get for their children. Dee really knows her dog well, as does anyone who has ever owned a dog. Loved it and want more!
Just when I think we might be out of "Charlie" books - here comes another one. Thank you so much, Ree Drummond. I have begun to purchase more than one, since my neighbors children have shown some interest as well. These books should be in every child's home library. They are rich with fun in knowing what might be going on in the ranch animals. Magic is the word for these books and I so recommend to everyone who has small children, grandchildren - or neighborhood children that might stop by for a read and a cookie. Highly recommend!
I really enjoy this series. There are many valuable lessons in this series. I really enjoy the great art work and attention to detail in the book. The reading level is relatively easy and the story lines are interesting. I enjoy reading the stories to my niece and enjoy listening to my young niece read it to me.
This book works great as a read aloud for little ones. She is fully engaged with the characters and make comments on almost every page. She asks for this one every day and even named one of her 'babies' Charlie. So happy to find Charlie books and will be getting more for our library. Short read for nap time. Great for boys or girls.
I love all the Charlie books written by Ree Drummond they let you feel and think like the dog is feeling and thinking. Perfect little readers for your library my kids couldn't put them down. A child feels success while reading these with its small word sentences and a lot of cute pictures that keep the child interest.
Great children's book. My 4 year old granddaughter loves Charlie Books. We read it to her, then she try's to read it by herself by looking at the pictures .
This book is outstanding for teaching young children about sharing and acceptance. The illustrations are delightful. I loved the book and bought it for my daughter, who is a second grade teacher. She was excited about it, and planned to read it to her students.
