I bought this book as a birthday gift for a 1 year old. I am a first grade reading intervention teacher and love giving books as gifts. This was a great little book to start teaching vocabulary and concepts of print. Both very important pre reading skills. Nice clear pictures and a large variety of animals and farm equipment. Nice high interest book for that age group.
Such a great book for the little farmer. I bought this for my 2 year old nephew and we have to look at it everyday. It started out with me asking where each thing was so he could point and now he will name them and tell me what they are. The wide variety of items has kept him interested and also very sturdy.
We purchased this book for our son when he was about 1 year old, and it has remained a favorite (he's almost 2 now). He likes to point to all of the pictures and ask us for the names...it has definitely taught him many new words. The pictures are clear and the quality is great. Highly recommend!
I bought three books for my cousin's infant and this was by far my favorite. It's very large and the pictures are bright and colorful. I know he will get hours (and years) of use out of this, since it's a board book and takes tough treatment. The other two books Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and Chugga Chugga Choo Choo were great, but much, much smaller in comparison. In the future, I will just buy the big books for infants and toddlers that I need gifts for. They are great gifts.
My son is almost 2 years old and loves these books. I have four of them now and he really enjoys getting them out himself and looking at all the pictures. I love the fact that they use real pictures instead of cartoons.
There is something about these photos that just grab my daughters attention. I try to get these books when I can because my 2 year old loves them so much. My other daughter also really enjoyed them when she was that age. It's great for helping expand their vocabulary as well as getting them thinking about what they are actually seeing by asking questions along the way.
What a fun book for small children...the size is a treat in comparison with typical board books, and the material makes for great parent-baby and parent-toddler conversation. The board material is pretty much saliva proof, which cannot be said for all books that have babies and toddlers as the primary audience. I will definitely be looking for other books in this series!
This is another great Roger Priddy picture book. My son loves to study the pictures, and the farm book adds many new words that are good for a beginner (as opposed to the more advanced books like the dinosaur book where the names are long and complicated). I love that the pictures are real photographs and not cartoons or drawings. Was hesitant to buy because the only other review was a 3 star. Glad I bought it anyway.
