I don't ask too much of a calendar, beyond that it correctly reflect months, days, and dates. That said, this calendar displays pictures of beautiful quilts, which inspire me to locate my "inner creator."
For any lover of hand-made quilts, this is a stunning calendar. it has reproductions of 12 award-winning quilts from all over the United States. One is more beautiful than the next. Two of my favorites are Stone II and Montana Tigers. Stone II was created by Jean Wells Keenan of Oregon. Ms. Keenan owns a quilt shop and found the inspiration for this quilt from the high mountains near her home, in particular, the stones. Montana Tigers was created by Karlyn Blue Lohrenz of Montana. This quilt shows two orange tiger lilies from her flower beds that were the inspiration for this quilt. She states that "a quilt is only complete once it is shared'. That being the case, twelve wonderful quilt-makers have shared their creations in this wonderful calendar which I will be enjoying for all of 2012.
This calendar has squares large enough to keep track of your busy schedule but no quilt patterns. Each quilt is shown on the top page and the bottom has the calendar. There is also a month before and month after smaller calendar.There is a two-page spread telling about each quilt. If you are only looking for a "working" calendar and pretty pictures with information about each, then this calendar will work for you.
I really liked this calendar. Even it is now outdated the Quilts in it is still worth while to see.
