My son loves this book very much!!! He has a wonderful time pointing to his own body parts, and imitating other pictures in the book. The photographs are excellent. I think this book is a great way to introduce your baby to the parts of his/her body, counting, actions, clothing, senses, etc.! It will provide many hours of enjoyment for you and your child.
We've been reading this series of books to my eldest daughter since she was 6 months, my second daughter has been listening in since birth. The books are sturdy for little hands to turn the pages with bright colourful and wonderful photography (no illustrations) that baby can see and compare with their own bodies.A wonderful book to share and read aloud to help learn and say the words. My daughter now reads these books to her younger sister pointing to each picture as she says the word as I did to her.A wonderful series of books to share with your baby and toddlers.
Calling this a "first" book made me think it would be appropriate for reading to an infant. I was expecting a word or two per page but the pages are so crowded with words that it is too distracting for her. This product could benefit from a "Look Inside" preview!
My son loves this book lately. He goes through all the pages, examining the pictures. Each time we read it out loud, there's a new word he says by himself.
It's certainly not a good book for babies less than two years old. There are too many pictures in each page and it's very hard to show the parts of bodies that is intended to display to babies. My 15 months old baby doesn't like it at all. Returning it.
This is a great book for young toddlers (or even babies). It's very well designed and packs a lot, but without feeling too busy. I got it when my daughter was 12 months old, and she loved looking at all the babies. Around 14 months she became obsessed with babies, and would enjoy any image of a baby - in books, on the packet of diapers, on the wet wipes, in a magazine, just anywhere she saw babies! So she also became obsessed with this book, and has been since then (she's 17 months old now). She flips through it or brings it to me every day. I don't think it's too busy at all, at least not for her. She loves finding all the babies and looking at what they're doing. It's great how the book also shows actions, not just body parts or objects, and it has a lot of daily activities, like playing with different toys, sleeping, eating, sitting on a chair, clapping hands, etc. She loves imitating what the babies are doing, or their facial expressions, and naming the toys they're playing with (and showing me which ones she has, too). All in all, this is one of the best executed books for this age that I've seen, and it has been tremendously successful with my daughter.
My 17 month old son LOVES this book. Most infants & toddlers love to look at pictures of babies/toddlers & this book is full of them. The book has many bright pictures that make it attractive to children. It doesn't just name parts of the body; it also talks about senses, things we do with our body, and a couple of pages on counting. I haven't seen a book by DK publishers yet that isn't a good book for children.
Did anyone notice the subtle racism in this book? Black hair? That is poor taste & bad editing. This should've been corrected along time ago. Shame on the publishers.
