This book and all the others by Helen Oxenbury are wonderful for pre-toddlers and toddlers. Both of my children, one boy and one girl, loved them. They are simple and take about a minute to show your kids (not counting all the requests for "again" you will get). My children asked for them more than any other book we own. My wife and I give these books regularly to friends expecting children of their own. I couldn't recommend them higher as reading material for your own children, or as gifts for others.
Great book for wee ones. The images are realistic and simple. I love that these books aren't busy like so many books. It helps my daughter focus on one thing at a time to have simple things to look at. This will also be great when she is first learning words.
These books are really great for the youngest children. They are so simple that they can really take in the information being presented-- and that info is all clearly related to the real world around them rather than nonsensical story books. I highly recommend all the Helen Oxenbury books!! My son loves them too.
Helen Oxenbury has been a first choice of mine for decades. This particular book's design is inadequate. An "I Touch" book needs to have illustrations with textures so that the child can touch the fur, etc. I plan to return the book and request a refund.
Cute in theory but not sure what baby will gain from abstractly reading about touching things.
I thought this book was a little lame when it arrived, there is really not much too it. But the baby does seem to like it and looking at the pictures of the baby. I think that the illustrations and content could have been a little better though, but maybe that is just me.
These are my baby's favorite books. Helping her understand her world from about 8/9 months and still super into them at 19 months.
Perfect book for my toddler grandson. I love all the stories and illustrations in the Helen Oxenbury books. Very pleased!
