The Sea Pony is the third book in the Piper Green And The Fairy Tree series. Piper is the youngest of three, living on a island that everyone knows each other. In her front yard, there is a tree that Piper has named The Fairy Tree due to it giving her something in exchange for a treat, it might not be what she wants but it's always something that she needs. In this book, Piper finds an unusual whistle in her fairy tree but like all young girls, she would rather have a pony instead. When word gets around that something is coming to the island, Piper is there to see a pony arrive at the island. When her dad is looking for someone to help him on his boat to catch lobsters, Piper goes with him and makes a friend along the way that alongside with her whistle will find something that will have her dad praising her and her new friend!! In the end, her dream of riding a pony may not be so far fetched as she thought in the beginning!!This is my first book to read in this series and I could tell it's the next Junie B. Jones series out there. It has everything that a younger reader will want, a very cute story-line, great illustrations and easy for beginners to get into reading! I'm now gonna have to go back and read the first two books so I can be all caught up by the time the third one comes out!Thank You to Ellen Potter for having this wonderful series so young readers can fall in love with reading!I received this book from the Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

I love this series. I have been found laughing out loud on more than one occasion while reading them. Potter captures coastal Maine living perfectly and her protagonist Piper is everything great about 7 year old girls. I can't wait for #4!

This is a fun little chapter book that is great for young readers. My first grader read it by herself and she loved it. She asked me if there were more books with Piper in them. My daughter enjoys reading books like this, including Junie B. Jones, Judy Moody, Ivy and Bean, Amber Brown, and Kelsey Green. Piper Green has found he way into my daughter's heart and we look forward to reading more of her adventures. I received this as a free ARC from Random House Children's, Knopf Books for Young Readers on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
