Very good photos, and the verbiage is very educational about horses. It tells you just enough interesting things, but not too much to bore you. Book needs to be read to new readers, for there are many sentences per page.
This was a great book for children. My daughter loves horses and this book kept her interest. We've read it over and over again.
Shows variety, has lots of pictures and is easy to read. My daughter loves it!
This book had potential, but frankly, I can't believe it is still for sale. , or someone, should pull this book! There were major editing problems, such as incomplete sentences ending on one page and a new subject on the following page. Not great for kids learning to read!
Great book for young kids that are obsessed with horses! My daughter, who is 6, picked out this book on her own. And she's read it about 1000 times since receiving it. It lets the reader know all that goes into taking care of horses, different breeds, and more. She loves this book and I am a little worried she'll wear it thin :)
While there are whole shelves full of horse books aimed at middle grades and up, there are very few written with primary grade students in mind. This book is a simplified version of an excellent book for older children written in simpler language for grades 1- 3.
My granddaughter loves horses, but doesn't like reading. I was hoping this book would encourage her to read and she could still get a lot of enjoyment from the pictures. I was afraid since the price was so inexpensive that it would not be a good quality book. But for 3.99 I was quite pleased. While she hasn't received it yet, I'm sure she will enjoy it and hopefully it will encourage her to read.
A decade or so ago I bought this book for my then three-year-old daughter. We read it so many times it fell apart, and we had to buy another copy. Little did I know that was one of the smaller horse-related expenditures I'd end up making. We're now regulars at the barn and on the show circuit. So this is a book that certainly served its purpose for us, and it launched at least one little girl on what will undoubtedly be a lifetime of horse-related adventures. I recommend it. Just beware of what you might be getting yourself into.
