*video takes you page by page through the book*What a fun book! A simple, easy, and educational read for all children. My niece's 7th birthday is coming up next week, so I bought her this book to go along with a giant 30" Viahart stuffed Cheetah I got her! This won't be the first time getting her a giant stuffed animal and matching book;) I think it makes the perfect gift "set". This is however my first purchase for The National Geographic book line for kids and I think it's fabulous! I will surely be purchasing more in the future. The only thing I would have added to improve the book would be more detail on the last couple pages that were dedicated to saving the cheetahs. It would have been nice to see resources listed for organizations that save cheetahs. All in all, it's a great, fun, easy, and educational read that I would recommend! :)I strive to make my reviews as helpful as possible to others, because helpful and honest reviews are just as important to me when I am deciding on what to buy. I hope my review has been of help to you!

National Geographic Kids books are great. The illustrations and photographs are amazing and the information they provide is set up in a way that keeps your children engaged and interested. They have small paragraphs and pop out boxes of facts over beautiful photographs and illustrations, instead of just a boring block of text. My girls love them and we have amassed quite a collection. This particular book is about Cheetahs. They talk about many things including the differences between cheetahs and other wild cats, their speed, where they live, baby cheetah cubs, and even how to protect them from extinction. My 6 year old loves learning the facts and reading the books while my 3 year old loves the pictures, especially the baby pictures. My 6 year old has been really interested in these types of educational books lately and has been asking for more, which we are happy to encourage. We have purchased many of the National Geographic Kids books for our collection and they are a big hit in our house. There are so many different books with various subjects that will appeal to any kid. These are highly recommended. If you haven't already, do your kids a favor and start their collection today.

I ordered this book for a second grade research project. The students were able to gather most of the information they needed from this one book. It contains wonderful, vivid photographs. If you are a primary grade teacher, the National Geographic Readers are perfect for teaching nonfiction text elements along with nonfiction reading comprehension (Common Core ELA Standards). Parents and children will enjoy these engaging books at home, too. They are interesting and informative.

My 2 year old LOVES this entire series of Nat. Geo Readers... I have purchased about 25 different titles, "pre-readers" as well as Level 1 & 2 readers. She loves them all & will ask for certain ones. The "pre-readers" level books are extremely simple & great because she memorizes the words & can "read" it herself. We love the more advanced ones too, because there is more information to talk about. I have learned quite a few facts, myself!) What a great series. The price is reasonable & pictures are great. These are really getting her interested in nature, animals & science... I will continue to buy these as they are released, for our collection!

My first grade girl loves all of these National Geographic Kids books. We have most of them at this point and she rereads them all of the time. They have excellent pictures and pretty easy reading for her age. Her younger sister enjoys having them read to her or she can just look at the pictures.

This is a great book for beginner readers. Our grandson wasn't reading completely by himself, but quickly picked up the book and dug in for details on the big cats. Easy to read, lots of details and went along with his Ty Cheetah.

My daughter has a recent obsession with Cheetahs so I bought this book to read to her. She is too young to read it on her own but she enjoys this book. The picture are great, and we have both learned a lot from this book.

One of the granddaughters, age 3, has a collection and is crazy about cheetahs. After we read this book, the older granddaughter had to point out that her sister's collection probably contains more leopards, not cheetahs. Very informative book for little ones and grandmas too. The six-year-old really loved the "punny" riddles interspersed on the pages. But they did lose interest before we got to the final couple pages.
