This work is suitable for ages 8-14. In the Middle Ages, stories were told to entertain, distract, and teach. Myths and stories were woven into tapestries, preached in church sermons, and sung at feasts. Using examples from all over the medieval world, this book shows how myths and legends influenced people's lives, and how these stories were immortalised through oral storytelling, in music and in crafts.

This book really isn't what I was looking for. I thought it would have some good stories in it, unfortunately it is more of an explaination of the style and meaning behind th stories of the myths, legends and songs of the Medieval World.

I bought this for my son to go with Tapestry of Grace curriculum. It is a pretty small book, and doesn't give a ton of information, I think this is one I could have done without.

I said great reference for writers, but I think it's great for readers too. I use it as a reference for planning imaginary tales and other mystical stories.

I used this series of books for a quick and easy reference guide in case there was a little detail I couldn't remember or wasn't sure about. These do the trick!

This was purchased for my kids when they were in a medieval unit at school, but it's fun enough that kids would just enjoy reading it on their own.
