Horrible. Absolutely horrible. Here is a sample from this gem:The vina's drone strings tuned to the first raga note, the fifth note of the scale, and the octave above the first note. Appalachian Mountain dulcimers use a similar pattern of melody-string and drone-string tuned to the first and fifth notes of the scale. The mountain dulcimer's melody notes are played with a flat, metal or wooden slider stick. One type of vina uses a metal slider, too. Scottish bagpipes have three drone pipes turned to the first scale note, its octave, and the fifth. The French musette was a small bagpipe with a drone. Several piano pieces call "Musette" are composed to imitate this sound. The drone is a common harmonic type in world music. Now, put yourself in the shoes of a 10 year old kid reading this same passage and trying to process what it says...just wow.And make no mistake, this is not me cherry picking a bad passage. They are all bad.If you are a teacher using this text please stop. If you are a teacher considering this text please don't.
