I was very happy to find a good copy of this OP booklet. Fine transaction.I love the Haders' illustrations, and the graphics of the '20s and '30s in general. Crediting both Berta and Elmer in this book was a (perhaps unknowing) mistake by Dover Publishers, as these paper dolls were designed and drawn by Berta alone before she met Elmer, and published a little later in McCall's Magazine under the pseudonym Barbara Hale. That information is missing from this reproduction. I collected both the Haders and as many of the lesser-known Barbara Hale pages as I could for years before learning that Berta and Barbara were the same person. My interest in old paper dolls is as much as anything for the graphics, for images of children, and for the styles of the time; but for those who simply love paper dolls, this would be a valuable addition to any collection.
