I have been reading this series to my six and nine-year-old children for the past few months, they absolutely love it!. Then to be honest it's a pretty interesting story line and keeps me interested and wanting to turn the pages to find out what will happen next. There is a scene in this book that made me laugh so hard I had to Compose myself for a few minutes before continuing on!
The fast-paced action returns to Bryan's third book in the Secret Zoo series! The descriptive words continue to explode vivid images into the hearts and minds of all who read this book. I continue to be amazed with Bryan's creativity and consistency with the characters, the mystery, and the action. The climatical ending in Riddles and Danger is very similar to the first book's trip into The Dark Lands! You won't be able to put the book down towards the end! I teach third grade and this series continues to be the best of the best as far as read alouds go! I love to use these books for my vocabulary instruction, as their are a lot great words used throughout the book to keep track of! I use his style of writing as a tool in my classroom too, as I tell the kids to "Go All Bryan Chick Out in Your Writing," meanding....add lots of details to make the story come alive! Having younger children myself, I can't wait until they are old enough to enjoy the series on their own...or with me! Great work Bryan! I already can't wait for book 4!
This is awesome it keeps you on the edge of your seat. The author has every intention of getting your attention and getting your heart racing!!! Everything is like so eerily calm then all of a sudden something really bad happens. So if you have heart problems don't read it. I am so joking either way READ IT !!!!!!!!!!
I by chance came across the first of these series. I read it to my 4 and 5 years. I had it on my eReader Kindle. The children enjoyed it as much as I did reading it to them. This prompted me to search for others in the series. This story is so fascinating. I will be reading the other series on my new Kindle Fire HD.
I originally bought the Secret Zoo for my son to read. However, to keep him reading, we read it together. I have really enjoyed all of the Secret Zoo books and am looking forward to book 6!! The characters are great, people and animals alike. And I think the plot line is amazing. I am hooked!!
This is a great book. The adventures of the scouts has had me hooked from book 1. The story is fast paced, exciting and very hard to put down. I keep wanting to see what happens be next. I highly recommend this book and the whole series. I can't wait to start the next one.
My son is 8 and I read to him everyday so I want to read books that I will enjoy also! Finding books that are appropriate for this age group can be difficult especially if you are looking for a series! This book is entertaining but not violent or scary and has wonderful characters! Love this whole series!
I accidentally started reading this book myself and I'm over 40! I really enjoyed it and thought it would be a wonderful book for my neices. Now they are hooked on the series and can't read it fast enough. If you love animals you will enjoy this book, filled with mystery, surprise and lots of animals!
