Franklin has received some exciting news â heâs going to be a big brother in the spring. Heâs so excited about the new baby, but spring seems to be so long in coming. But, all he has to do is exercise a little patience, and before he knows it...spring is here! This is a great book, one that should be made available to any young person who is soon to become a big brother or sister. The story is interesting and the illustrations are bright and well-done â which will engage the youngsterâs attention. I liked the story, both suggesting that the older child should be excited about become an older brother or sister, and suggesting patience. I think that this is a great resource, and I highly recommend it to every expectant parent who already has a little one!
My son loves this book. He wants to read it over and over. Not only does it talk about waiting for a new baby, there's a little science lesson about plants growing too. He is now pretending his little boy doll is his baby sister now. So cute!
A charming little story as Franklin awaits the the birth of his little sister. I purchased this for my two and a half year old grandson before his sibling arrived. The family enjoyed reading it again and again. They are now loving Franklin books and have bought several more.
I absolutely loved reading this story to my daughter. This is a great addition the Franklin series and an excellent story for a child who is expecting a new brother or sister.
Franklin is every young child's friend. They can instantly connect with the young turtle's sense of adventure and enjoy watching him work through familiar problems and solve them in his own way. All of them have been authored by Paulette Bourgeois and illustrated by Brenda Clark. They obviously made a wonderful team, since they have sold over 60 millions copies in over 30 languages. The stories are engaging and the pictures delightful. I love these books!!!
Franklin's Little Sister is a fantastic little book that really helped us prepare our son for the arrival of his sister when we adopted her. The Franklin books all have very good lessons for kids, but I was particularly thankful for this one :)
My middle son (then 4)loved this book while waiting for his own baby sister to arrive. The secondary storyline about Franklin worrying over his bean sprout is so sweet. Now that my daughter is 2, this is her bedtime story of choice. As we get her ready for bed and I ask what book she'd like to read, we have to smile when she says, "Baby sister book!" We tell her all about when we were waiting for her to be born and remember the first time we held her. The boys will listen in, thinking back to that first day in the hospital when their waiting was finally over.
Franklin is impatient for his baby sister to arrive. He feels left out. Just like most kids do when there is a new arrival. He keeps trying to get spring to come so his mom can have the baby. The is so true to want most kids go through when they are waiting for their new baby to come. They get put on the back burner while everyone is focusing on the new arrival.
