excellent book for preschoolers, great learning tool for teaching MLK Jr and his contribution to American history

This is my favorite MLK book for teaching. It has simple, rich text, and my students can easily pull several meaningful details from it. I love the discussions it inspires. Many of my other MLK books have inappropriate content for young children. This one doesn't.

As a mother of a bi racial child I highly disliked this book . For the simple fact that the "white people" were illustrated as being almost identical to the block people . If your going to show children our countrys history do it the right way.

This is a very basic text for young readers but it does not use any historical vocabulary or terminology to accompany the text. So we will discuss the vocabulary and use the text to have some colorful visuals.

My 5 year old likes it. We read it once a week. He has other Dr. King books that he likes too

The book is easy to read, informative and the illustration makes children eager to turn the page. I will be purchasing additional books from this author in the future.

This was a gift for my granddaughter, she is 6 years old and she loves it. She is able to use it in school as part of an assignment. Great for kids.

Great book for introducing The Civil Rights Movement to my 6 yr. old. We will be sharing this book with his first grade classroom.
