This is a real help for kids taking Geometry - if they use it. The format is VERY dense, and it takes some study itself to gain facility in using it well. I do find that one really need both part 1 and part 2 of this guide if s/he wants complete coverage of a high school geometry course, so plan on investing in both. Also, the organization is somewhat odd or random it seems between part 1 and 2. These are the only reasons I did not give this study aid a 5 star rating, even though it clearly does say "part 1" -- organizationally, this is one of the weaker Quickstudy Guides. You'll need both parts even for the start of Geometry.Once you figure out where information is on the PACKED pages of the guide, it really is helpful, so I would definitely recommend it. It is ESPECIALLY good if you have a textbook like the one used at my son's school, where all of the key concepts are in bold lettering, but the key words are left out with big question marks in blanks for the kids to work out/learn in class through "inductive reasoning" and/or lecture. It might be the dumbest textbook idea yet, since the information just is NOT THERE to be read by kids who miss a day of school, or if a teacher skips lessons, etc. This guide is GREAT to fill in the book full of question marks! So, buy Part 1 AND Part 2, and you will have a complete picture of Geometry and a truly GOOD study aid.
this Pamphlet on Geometry Part 1 (Quickstudy: Academic) Pamphlet – February 19, 2001 is a plasticized fold out compilation of the most important of the Geometry basic shapes, formula and basic information you need to perform a good review of the subject matter. I am glad I purchased this and other similar pamphlets of the study of Math, Physics and Calculus. Differential Equations is a very thorough layout of the formulas used in the study.
Best purchased I ever made. They say you get what you paid for, but in this case I got a whole lot for a little price! Great reference sheet for the kids while doing homework. Easy to take along. It's laminated and very durable. I have since bought several for different subjects. It's hard to remember all the formulas it and it helps during review time for exams.
Excellent study aid and reference guide. So glad we got this for our daughter. It helped me review/teach her basic concepts that she was unable to learn from the teacher. If the teacher just isn't cutting it, it's better to learn from different aids than to just give up and score poorly in the class.
This is a keeper for Geometry when you are solving problems and do not have a tablet or laptop at hand to search for math formulas. I gave it a four because it is kind of freshman high school basic level. It is not college level.
Bought a set for Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus. They are good to have around the home for your kids but there's nothing spectacular about them. And don't hold your breath for the "free downloads" advertised on them...they include highly sought-after titles like "Keys to High School Success," "Flag Day," & "Email Etiquette."
my fault-I did not realize when I ordered that it only covered half of the course, and now n==I need to purchase another.
helps to understand geometry when the school book offers no info on how to do the homework problems. & I got geometry for dummies -- the two together -- awesome!!!
