In my class we have to do a book report every month. The month of December we did biographies. So, I picked this book, Pocahontas. There are 176 pages of interesting events that happened in Pocahontas's life. Although some of them are sad, they are written in a great way. At the beginning of the book, the book tells you on what pages you can see nicely done illustrations by Meryl Henderson, too. This is a great book and I think you should read it. I enjoyed reading Pocahontas and so will you so go to the nearest bookstore and buy this book!
My 4th grade daughter had to do a biography for school, and she chose Pocahontas. I read this book as well after she was done with it to check for historical acuracy. Overall, the book did a nice job with the facts and/or supposed facts surrounding her unusual life. However, the book is written as a story. This made it fun for my daughter to read, but it also colored what was going on with Pocahontas' emotions and feelings which no one knows. We ended up looking her up in other books just so my daughter could get a better and more acurate picture of who this woman was.
I love this series. It's written in a great format and uses words that are easy for kids to understand. My daughter in the 5th grade, and she's read 4 of these books this semester. Every time she's finished with one, then she's ready for the next.
Great gift for my daughter
Arrived in great shape.
Perfect! Thanks!
