Since reading this to my grandson, we have both been obsessed with Milton Hershey. We learned not only about his life, but the way he changed our country. Our next step is to visit Hershey, PA. Why not? We feel like we already know him personally. Now we want to see what he built in person!
I was raised in Hershey, PA and found this book to be informative. I knew a lot of the info, but learned new things about Milton Hershey. After I read it I donated it to the fourth grade class I worked in. Many of the students read it and liked it.
I got this for my daughter, and ended up reading it myself. There's a lot to admire about Mr. Hershey, and we are looking forward to visiting the town he created.
I was born & raised in this area, Hershey. I purchased this for my son in law. He uses it in his Special Ed class room. He reports that this is an interesting story about this man's life and the kids love it.
This was a great read after visiting Hershey Park this year. Milton Hershey was a great man who did a lot for his worker and children in the town. I did not know that and I think this is a great role model for children. Highly recommend.
This is my son's favorite book in this series. (We have read several.). It is well written, easy to comprehend, and contains lots of interesting info that we both have enjoyed a lot. Milton Hershey was a very interesting person. This book was a great find!
What a wonderful and interesting book. After reading and writing his book report, my son wants to go to Pennsylvania and see the Hershey Museum and amusement park. Great for a 3rd grader's reading list!
This is a great book! We bought it for a biography book report. This book kept my daughter's attention and kept her reading (which isn't her favorite thing to do). It has great illustrations and many many fun facts about Milton Hershey. I read it to make sure my daughter had all the facts and I zoomed right through it. It gives you just enough facts to get a good view of Hershey, but not too much to bore you. I love the "Who is..." Series. All the books that we have read have been enjoyable for me and my daughter.
