This is a great level three reader about the awesome Dr. Seuss. My son, as an 8 year old, has learned much about this author in school. This text went above what he knew plus was a challenging read for a low-level 2nd grade reader.
DR. SEUSS THE GREAT DOODLER is a succinct, fun read exploring the life of this great writer. The narrative is clear and simple. The text is accompanied by beautiful color artwork on each page, depicting events in the life of the famed writer. The book has some interesting tidbits about Dr. Seuss that I bet most people don't know. For instance, he served in the Army in WWII, as part of a film crew making training videos. The most surprising fact for me was how THE CAT IN THE HAT got started. It was on a bet! He was challenged to write a book using only 225 simple words. (That simple book took him a year to write!)All in all, I found DR. SEUSS THE GREAT DOODLER to be an endearing story, about an endearing writer. I wish I could have met this great man. Well at least, here the reader can learn a little bit more.
Fantastic book for young readers. My Kinders love this book and learning about Dr. Seuss at s level they can understand and retain.
I got this book for my grandson because he loves to read biographies. He is just finishing first grade and he enjoyed the book.
Even my 3 year old grandson enjoys learning about this genius of a man :)
This was a very informative book on Dr. Seuss. The kids loved it.
