I bought this for my youngest granddaughter because my old granddaughter is constantly drawing, sketching and creating, and my youngest always wants to do the same so I first got her a book of drawing all sorts of vehicles. She LOVES cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc... Anyway, when i saw her drawings, I was amazed at how well she did so I thought this would be great for her as she loves animals too. Children from 5yrs old and up should have these books. It is great in an educational way also. I definitely recommend this for kids. They have a series of drawing books so you can choose whichever one your children are interested in. I am getting the dinosaurs next.
My daughters, 8 and 6, along with myself like to draw on Friday nights. We in no way are professionals. We like these books and have tons of fun with them. We do wish they broke the steps out a little more. My youngest has a few issues following the steps. Still a great time.
My daughter (12 years old) loves this book. It is simple enough for her to follow. She is a decent artist, but sometimes has trouble copying pictures. However, that has not been the case with this book. The animals are quite simple, but again, for her it's perfect. If your artist can draw simple cartoon like animals already, this might not be the book for you.
My grandson who is 6 and in first grade loves this book. He is constantly drawing pictures virtually every day. Better outcome than I even hoped for .
I recommend this book for step-by-step drawing. The animals in this book are adorable, and there is a good selection to draw from.
