I feel like a d-bag for writing this review, but buyers need to know that this is a glorified coloring book for kids. I was expecting higher instructional learning for students trying to get into the industry. A kid would probably really like it, though.
This book is fraught with activities, for sure. But the book's big type, plain-spoken language, and very basic activities - most of which are coloring - makes me think that this is not for the self-learning person or professional. It comes off as a child's activity book, and I wish it were advertised as such. This is less about design thinking, theory, and activities for practice, and more about completing basic activities like, "Draw 4 versions of Merida's curly hair."The reason why I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 or 1 was because, though it feels geared toward middle-school children, some of the activities could be repurposed as actual design prompts depending on how you frame them. It costs $10 for a reason; you've been warned.
Really disappointing book, its way to boring for kids and totally uninspired for adults. I cant imagine who thought this was a good execution of what should have been a very exciting studio to pull are sketches, ideas, art to make a creative activity art book. Skip it, instead grab a Doodle Idea coloring book youll have more fun. Or the Disney Sketchbook if you want to see some great pencil art of Disney Pixar movies.Id return it but damn, i colored the first few pages before i realized it was rotten.
Not quite what I was expecting. It's a children's activity booklet. I had anticipated something a little more in depth, but I suppose it was my own fault for not reading the description a bit more.If you're looking for something for a younger child who likes to draw and loves pixar this is the item for you, otherwise it's mildly disappointing.
Terrific for a creative middle schooler, or even a bit younger. Especially if they are a Pixar fan. Fun for them to draw on their knowledge of the film for some of the activities, and then branch out and create their own designs and stories. A+
Thought it was an art book, it's a children's activity book. Would love it if it were an adult activity book or if I was a child.
