My sister is a children's librarian at a school in Texas. I live in Ohio and am a reading/literacy specialist teacher. She loves illustrated picture storybooks. This will be a gift I am certain she will appreciate. The volume I bought used almost looked like it had never even been opened. The book is a historical trip down memory lane, just to remember some of the art/ illustration styles over the decades. It also contains a short bio on each of the poster's artists and their careers. I think it is the perfect gift for any school librarian or anyone who appreciates the fine art of design, in general.
This book is a great resource for graphic designers looking for ideas for web site illustrations. Broad color schemes, dramatic but often simple posters many of which could be adapted as animations. A beautiful tribute to the great children's authors.
Enjoy seeing all sides of Children's Book illustrations.
