I've been buying this calendar every year for more than 10 years. Can't go a day without it. Who cares that some of the holidays are shown on the wrong day? It just makes life more interesting. SAIL always seems to get Halloween correct. It would be horrible to show up at work in a costume on the wrong day.SAIL calendar R & D continues to improve on the accuracy and strength of the round hole SAIL calendars hang from. The 2013 edition does not disappoint. It has a nice round hole with good strength for hanging on a nail or decorative hook. Some of the early 2000 edition SAIL calendars had unstable holes that failed later in the year, especially when flipped into August or September. Too much weight on top from months gone by on top vs. bottom resulted in SAIL calendars crashing down on desktops due to hole failure. That has not happened to me since 2005. It appears that SAIL is now using high tensile, carbon fiber paper.A look at the SAIL calendar on a bad day can cheer you up; make you look forward to a relaxing or adventurous outing on the water.
I enjoy sailing calendars because they remind me of the times when I sailed boats as well as the fun that I had doing it. I prefer action scenes as opposed to seeing a sail boat on the water, and this calendar does a good job of providing these images. It also helped that I was able to preview the back of the calendar to see the images for some of the months which helped me decide on this calendar.
I've usually bought another sailing calendar series which I've loved. This year I decided to try something else and bought this one. Unfortunately, the photos in this calendar are of very uneven quality. Most of them are pedestrian - something a photographer of moderate competence would be able to take. I only liked a couple. Next year, I'll go back to the tried and true one.
I have had a SAIL magazine calendar on my wall for years. Great photos and easy to read calendar from across the room. I have this in my office. Last year some of the Jewish holidays were on the wrong days. This year's looks to be correct.
i would have liked more variety to the boats. Seems like a brand new boat advertisement, but the pictures are definitely gorgeous. Next time I am going to look more carefully at the collection of pix. BUT it was on sale and I love sailboats.
My husband asks for the SAIL calendar every year for Christmas, and I totally understand why. The photos are honestly breathtaking. This year I ordered it late so he didn't get it until his birthday in January. He was a little bummed out that he missed 2 weeks of looking at it. Seriously though, great photography.
What better way to check the date than having a calendar with such great pictures. I have been buying it every year for years now.
The images are great--some would even look great in a frame! I would recommend this calendar to avid sailors/sailing fans.
