As mentioned in other 1-star reviews, none of the profits are going to Greenpiece this year.If you are not so inclined to click on the link provided by others, I'll try to summarize.They made this calendar as usual, and it went to print and then was distributed by their publisher. It was then that they realized one of the photographers for the calendar was on the team of people that bombed the Greenpeace ship in 1985, killing one Greenpeace employee. With that new information, they wanted to recall all the calendars and replace the photos. The publisher told them they could not-- it would be impossible to do a total recall after the distribution, and they refused to try unless Greenpeace paid them $250,000 for "lost profits". Greenpeace doesn't think that is a good use of $250,000, but are still morally opposed to supporting that particular photographer, so they are not accepting their cut of sales for this calendar.*This information can be found on their website. My apologies if I over-simplified or got some details inaccurate.If you buy this calendar, as I was going to, to support the good cause of Greenpeace, that isn't the case this year. Instead, I purchased "The Spirit of the Wild National Wildlife Federation 2015 Wall Calendar". I will also be making a donation to Greenpeace, because this situation is probably really hurting their donations this time of year!

When one has a family member who is a member of Greenpeace and ready to fight all Greenpeace battles, how can this calendar miss as a Christmas present? The photos are good and diverse - undersea, tropics, and arctic on consecutive pages. In all, its an exciting calendar!
This calendar is exactly what I was looking for after returning one purchased from a different organization. This calendar is described as "oversized" and the dimensions are true to what is listed. It is nice and big, a few inches bigger on each side than the usual calendar size, and perfect for filling in appointments and schedules month to month. The photographs are a nice mix of animal and nature scenes, and the colors are beautiful and true. Love it!
I buy calendars for the art or the photographic art. The Greenpeace: Standing Up For The Earth 2015 Wall Calendar has not disappointed. While I'm only at August, the photos have been beautiful, each and every one.
It has been tradition for maybe ten years plus to get this calendar after the holidays, half price or more. YES I am fully aware of the GreenPeace issues they had at printing (one of the pictures was submitted and accepted by a Frenchman convicted of killing a Greenpeace worker in 1985) and now it's just a finger pointing game on who let his submission make it to print to begin with. I am sure there is a lot more to the entire story we will never know. I chose to still enjoy my calendar.
have been buying these greenpeace calendars for 15 years……love them, lots of room to write things on the dates, lovely pics. and helps greenpeace movement. I keep them, they are a nice look back at what happened in that year…...
