Beautiful pictures, and it has dates of all the significant night sky events of the coming year, as well as planet positions and of course, moon phases. There is also a small 'bonus' picture on each page next to the calendar numbers, and descriptions of what each of the photos (large and small) are. There is also a 'quick guide' to the major celestial events of 2016. A great calendar for sky watchers!
I bought this as a gift and the recipient seemed pleased. I was slightly underwhelmed and thought it looked a little better online - but it's a great idea and contains some beautiful photos. I wish the pages were a bit thicker and that the whole thing was a bit heavier/bigger so that it would hang better. As it is, the bottom portion sometimes sticks out from the wall (it is hung with a nail on top, nothing on the bottom, so we can probably adjust that). It's nice, though, and a good gift for an astronomy lover.
I don't like to take sneak peeks into upcoming months - it ruins the surprise - but so far the photos have been beautiful. Simple astronomical information is given - phases of moon, location of planets with respect to moon, meteor showers, etc. Also lists holidays and has short descriptions of the photos. Just enough room to mark your own personal upcoming occasions.
I wasn't that impressed with the photos; they are beautiful landscape photos but there isn't as much focus on the stars. It should have been called "Night Sky" instead - that would have been more accurate.What I do like about this calendar is the extra events marked on the calendar, such as meteor showers, moon-planet conjunction, planet oppositions, lunar eclipses, solar eclipses and major celestial events.
Absolutely gorgeous! I love that you actually get two pictures per month. Just bought my daughter a telescope so it's really great to be able to look on the calendar to find planets and meteor showers. Also has a lot of space to write in.
This is a well-made calendar with fantastic photos. As a bonus, it includes astronomical events and contains additional photos and information about the photos. It is a little wider than most calendars that I have purchased in the past.
The calendar has nice photos and the daily squares are just large enough to mark our appointments. The paper is pretty thin, but acceptable. I expected more astronomical "fun" facts to share with the family, so I am disappointed, as that is why I chose this particular calendar.
This is the most attractive calendar I have ever seen, and I've tried many. I particularly love the photos of the east coast US Atlantic shore with the night sky above. Each month presents another of Grant Collier's spectacular photography. I also like his description of how he planned and waited for each image (which doesn't take up much space as other calendars do, but instead is subtle and well-placed beneath each photograph, as a part of the excellent composition of the entire calendar). This calendar is also printed on high quality stock. If you like the night sky and the ocean as much as I do, you'll love this calendar.
