As an avid Sherlock fan, I had been looking to get this calendar ever since it came out in September. Unfortunately, it had been a bit expensive, more than I wanted to pay for a calendar (around $30)... but then the price went down and I snapped it up. I'm very glad that I did.Each month is adorned with a beautiful photo of someone from the series. They are high-quality photos, very vibrant and with lots to look at. Most, if not all (can't recall at the moment) has a quote to match the character. The quotes are good picks, ranging from the comical "I need you to maximise your visual memory" when Sherlock spins John around in The Blind Banker to the ever-poignant "Alone is what I have. Alone protects me." "No. Friends protect people" from The Reichenbach Fall.The photos of the characters range from Sherlock to John to both of them, to Jim and Mycroft and Lestrade. Even Mrs Hudson has a page for herself. I was a little disappointed to find that Molly didn't have a character page... but perhaps next year.And there's a special treat in between July and August, I believe are the months... which I read is a special pre-promotional photo from Series Three. It's nothing fancy, but I didn't expect it and it makes me smile. It also gives one a reason to hang up the calendar before 2014, since it doubles as a non-year specific poster.Now, I've never bought a calendar that was made in the United Kingdom, so I didn't know what to expect. But the quality is even better than what is made in the United States. The front and back covers of the calendar are good quality and glossy, where my US calendar from last year is just dull, no shine whatsoever. It seems to be holding up very well.
